Casey Affleck missed his brother’s wedding due to “parental obligations”
The 47-year-old actor was a notable absentee when his brother Ben married Jennifer Lopez in Georgia on Saturday (08.20.22).
Casey’s absence from the ceremony was initially unexplained – but a source has now revealed to PEOPLE that it was “because of family, parental obligations at home”.
The ‘Manchester By the Sea’ star has sons Indiana, 18, and Atticus, 14, with his ex-wife Summer Phoenix. Casey was also spotted with girlfriend Caylee Cowan in Los Angeles on Friday.
Despite this, plenty of Ben and Jennifer’s big-name friends were present for their much-anticipated wedding, including actor Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barros, as well as director Kevin Smith and actor Jason Mewes.

Gary Busey has been charged with three sex crimes that allegedly took place earlier this month at a horror films fan convention.
The offences are said to have happened during a ‘Monster Mania’ event at a hotel in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, according to police.
Officers in Cherry Hill confirmed on Saturday (20.08.22) the person they are charging is the actor, 78, who is based in Malibu, California.
According to a release from the Cherry Hill force the actor was charged on Friday with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, a single count of fourth-degree attempted sexual assault and a single count of harassment.

The actor, 64, added in a new interview with CNN the tragedy that saw cinematographer Halyna Hutchins shot dead has “taken years off his life”.
Baldwin also revealed the FBI has still not tested live rounds that killed the mum-of-one, 42, for fingerprints to assess how they ended up on the New Mexico set of the western.
He is now awaiting a decision from prosecutors who will decide whether he should be criminally charged over the accident on October 21 last year.
Baldwin also blamed former President Donald Trump, whom the actor famously impersonated on Saturday Night Live, for adding to his stress over Halyna’s death after the ex-leader blamed him for the tragedy – a move the actor said left him fearing for his safety.
