Alexa lets Amazon customers thank delivery drivers — and give them a bonus
“Alexa, thank my driver.”
That’s not something you would normally expect an Alexa-enabled device to do, but Amazon is making this feature a reality this holiday season to thank its delivery drivers for all the hard work they do.
Here’s what you need to know about the feature and how you can use it to thank your delivery driver.
According to Amazon, if you reside in the U.S. and have an Alexa-enabled device (Echo, Echo Show) or the Alexa or Amazon Shopping mobile apps, you can use it to thank your delivery driver.
Any time a customer uses these apps to say “Alexa, thank my driver,” the driver who delivered the customer’s most recent order on Amazon will be notified of the customer’s appreciation.
There is an added incentive for the drivers. Drivers who receive the first 1 million “thank you’s” from customers will also get a $5 bonus at no cost to the customer, according to Amazon.
The five drivers who receive the most “thank you’s” during the specified promotion will get $10,000 for themselves and $10,000 for a charity of their choice.
