IOC warns Afghanistan about Paris Olympics status

The Afghanistan team's status for the 2024 Paris Olympics has been put in question by the IOC over growing frustration with the Taliban blocking access to sport for women and girls. The International Olympic Committee says it "continues to be extremely concerned" about the sports situation in Afghanistan despite its repeated calls for action. The IOC says it has the right to take further measures. And it notes details for an Afghanistan delegation going to the Paris Games haven't been decided. The IOC could suspend Afghanistan's Olympic body for government interference and support athletes to compete as an independent team.

TCU ends Oral Roberts' surprising run at College World Series

TCU used a four-run fifth inning to take control of the game and went on to beat Oral Roberts 6-1 in a College World Series elimination game. The Horned Frogs will play Florida next and would need to beat the No. 1 national seed Wednesday and again Thursday to reach the best-of-three finals. TCU avenged Friday’s 6-5 loss to the Golden Eagles.

Kyle Kuzma opts out of his contract with the Wizards

Kyle Kuzma will be a free agent when the league’s annual offseason shopping period starts next week. Kuzma has declined his $13 million player option with the Washington Wizards for next season. That's according to a person with knowledge of the decision who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because neither side disclosed the move.

Nebraska pitcher Bahl was homesick from the start at OU

Even as Jordy Bahl was on her way to becoming national freshman of the year at Oklahoma in 2022, her heart was back home. The Papillion, Nebraska, native got a tattoo with the outline of Nebraska on her right arm during spring break that year. After two standout seasons for the Sooners, she decided to transfer and play for Nebraska. This past season, she had a 22-1 record and an 0.90 ERA. She threw 24 2/3 scoreless innings at this year's Women's College World Series and was named its Most Outstanding Player.

Allisha Gray has been a big reason why the Atlanta Dream have been moving up in the standings after a successful road trip. The Dream swept games in New York, Connecticut and Indiana to move to .500. They're holding out a sliver of hope that maybe some team makes the daring move of trying to draft both of them.

Paris 2024 Olympics HQ searched in third straight Summer Games scandal

Officials say French investigators have searched the Paris Olympic organizers' headquarters as part of corruption investigations into contracts linked to the Games. This is the third straight time graft allegations have dogged a Summer Olympics. The Paris organizing committee said in a statement that a search was underway Tuesday at their headquarters in the suburb of Saint-Denis. It said it was cooperating. It would not comment further. An official with the financial prosecutor's office said the search was linked to two preliminary investigations related to the Olympics that had not previously been made public. The official who was not authorized to be publicly named according to office policy.
