Billy Joel’s tribute to Tony Bennett
Billy Joel has paid tribute to Tony Bennett as “one of the nicest human beings I’ve ever known” following his death at the age of 96.
The 74-year-old musician took to Instagram to praise Bennett’s “outstanding contribution to the art of contemporary music”, over 20 years after the pair collaborated on the 2001 album ‘Playin’ with My Friends: Bennett Sings the Blues’.
Billy wrote on Instagram: “Tony Bennett was the one of the most important interpreters of American popular song during the mid to late 20th century. He championed songwriters who might otherwise have remained unknown to many millions of music fans.
“His was a unique voice that made the transition from the era of Jazz into the age of Pop.”

Machine Gun Kelly reportedly slapped a fan for calling Megan Fox “beautiful as f***”.
The 33-year-old rapper was said to be furious when fan Angel Zuniga complimented his fiancée after he spotted her at the O.C. Fair and Kelly reportedly launched himself at the man.
TMZ has obtained video of MGK and Megan stepping off a ride, with the rapper approaching two men standing outside it and slapping one of them.
Angel’s brother Nelson Zuniga told TMZ that he and his family were waiting to get on the UFO ride when Megan and MGK stepped off it.
He claimed that MGK slapped Angel and Angel tried to retaliate with a punch but missed.

Jamie Foxx admits he didn’t know if he would ‘make it through’ health scare
Jamie Foxx went to “hell and back” during his recent health scare.
The 55-year-old Hollywood star has maintained a low profile since being rushed to hospital with an undisclosed medical issue back in April but he recently took to Instagram to share a video update and reveal that while he is recovering, there was a time when he didn’t know if he “was going to make it through”.
Jamie said on Instagram: “I went through something I never thought I would go through. I know a lot of people [were] waiting or wanting to hear an update, but to be honest with you, I didn’t want you to see me like that man.
“I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie [or] television show. I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”

Ariana Grande is reportedly dating Ethan Slater.
The 30-year-old singer has started dating the Broadway star – who appears alongside her in the film adaptation of ‘Wicked’ – following her split from husband Dalton Gomez.
A source told PEOPLE: “Ariana and Dalton separated in January. She and Ethan recently began dating, and he is separated from his wife.”
Reps for both stars have so far remained tight-lipped amid the speculation.
Ariana plays Glinda in the much-anticipated film adaptation of ‘Wicked’, while Ethan stars alongside her as Boq.
