Suspects Charged in Charlotte Armed Robberies
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested two people for their involvement in two armed robberies.
On February 29th around 5:08 p.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of Lakemist Drive in reference to an armed robbery from a victim. The victim was arriving home and had just gotten out of his vehicle when he was approached by a black male suspect. The suspect brandished a firearm and proceeded to rob the victim. The suspect then got into a vehicle driven by a second suspect and fled the scene.
A few moments later, officers responded to the 8500 block of Lodge South Circle in reference to a second armed robbery from a victim. The victim was sitting in his vehicle when he was approached by a black male suspect that brandished a firearm and demanded his property. After receiving the property the suspect got into a vehicle driven by a second suspect and fled the scene.
Additional information and evidence gathered led officers to arrest Ayonta Risher, 21, and Kaderius Berry, 21, in connection to the crimes. The two were transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
