NFL star J.J. Watt offers to help woman pay for funeral so she can keep his shoes, jersey

A woman who is a Houston Texans fan offered to sell some memorabilia of football star J.J. Watt online to help pay for her grandfather’s funeral.

So Watt responded and told the woman, Jennifer Simpson, not to sell her stuff and that he would help with expenses and tweeted “I’m sorry for your loss.”

According to a Sports Illustrated report, Watt, who played in Houston from 2011 to ’20 and now plays for the Arizona Cardinals, was tagged in a tweet Wednesday as Simpson offered to sell a pair of Watt’s Reebok shoes in an attempt to pay for her grandfather’s funeral. She also tweeted that she had a Watt jersey to sell.

According to Simpson’s user profile, she is a Texans and Astros fan who before her interaction with Watt had just 70 followers.
