Five Shot in Four Rock Hill Shootings

ROCK HILL, SC — Rock Hill Police are searching for suspects in four shootings in the past 24 hours.
Police reports list 23 victims and witnesses. Five people were shot.
Family friends fell to the ground, crying when they learned someone shot and killed 18-year-old Jarrius Harding.
“He was just a baby. He didn’t deserve this,” said Nikisha Whitlock. “Just want justice to be served. That’s all.”
Police say two others were riding with him when a gunman shot into the car on Keel and Black St. and ran.
The three drove five more minutes to Cauthen St. where medics found Harding dead. Another passenger was injured.
Thursday, police worked three drive-by shootings.
“[I’m] Scared as hell, honey,” said Tameka Wright.
Wright says she hid with her two-year-old daughter in a bathroom when bullets flew through her window on Pearson Dr.
“Anybody could’ve gotten hurt: me, my kids, father,” said Wright. “He’s disabled. He could’ve gotten killed.”
Less than a mile away, police say bullets injured three teenagers inside an Arlington Ave. home.
Then, on Lige St., no one was hit. Records show the youngest person inside was three-years-old.
“Stop the shooting,” said Wright.
Victims want police to actively search for illegal guns on the streets before the violence worsens.
