Canada beats U.S. 4-3 in 9th round of SO at women's worlds

Jamie Lee Rattray scored the winner in the ninth round of the shootout and Canada beat the United States 4-3 Monday night in the final preliminary round game for both teams at the women’s world hockey championship. The teams will turn their attention to the quarterfinals on Thursday after finishing 1-2 atop Group A.

Family: QB Haskins was drugged before he was fatally struck

The family of deceased Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins has filed a lawsuit claiming he was drugged, robbed and extorted before he was fatally struck while standing drunk on a highway after running out of gas. The Florida lawsuit alleges that the former Ohio State star was drugged and robbed by a man and three women in the hours before the April 2022 accident. 

Beal miffed at questions about his future with Wizards

Bradley Beal said if he wanted to leave Washington, he'd have made that a lot more obvious by now. Beal hasn’t said anything to that effect. So it appears he’s ready to stay the course with the Wizards. The Wizards sound prepared to try to keep their trio of Beal, Kristaps Porzingis and Kyle Kuzma together. That’s after a season in which Washington went 35-47 and missed the playoffs.

Boston heads to Fever as No. 1 pick in WNBA draft

Aliyah Boston is the No. 1 pick in the WNBA draft, going to the Indiana Fever. It’s the first time that the Fever have had the top choice in the draft and they chose the South Carolina star. Boston, a three-time AP All-American who also was the Player of the Year as a junior, will solidify the post for Indiana.

NBA in Mexico: G League team hopes it's laying foundation

The early success of the G League team in Mexico City has fans hoping one day Mexico can be the home of an NBA expansion franchise. It's a longshot but that hasn't dampened the optimism. When NBA Commissioner Adam Silver visited Mexico in December, he said the Capitanes would give the league a great opportunity to see if Mexico could be considered for a franchise in the future. So far, it appears the G League organization is on the right path.
